However, the rankings change every minute of the day and that depends on the traffic driven to your website.

Traffic Source #5: Google

Still delivering lots of traffic to my websites is Google. The web’s top search engine really delivers high-quality traffic to my sites.

There are no tricks to it either. It really is as simple as taking the recommendations directly from Google’s site at www.google.com/webmasters/ and then making sure your site is properly optimized with the right keywords for your niche.

Use your best keywords at the beginning of your title tag and set up your internal linking structure so that all links to your main page contain your best keywords in the anchor text. The rest happens by getting quality links from other sites to your site.

Traffic Generation Techniques – Part 4

As we continue with this mini series I would like to cover:

Traffic Source #4: Links/Content

Getting lots of incoming links to your site is important. Not only will traffic arrive via those links, but a site with lots of incoming links does better in search engines than sites with few links.

The best strategy I’ve used to get links, starts with content. You write articles based on your niche, post the content at your site AND share the content with other webmasters. You can do this “on-the-fly” by including a short footer after your content that tells webmasters they have permission to reprint your article at their website or in their newsletter.

Be sure to let them know that they need to include a live link to your site. You may even want to tell them exactly how to link to your site. (Preferably with a short description of your site and a hyper linked keyword or two. This will help search engines determine that the sites are related and give the link more relevance.)

There are lots of websites in need of decent content. Supply it and you can benefit greatly – your links will grow continually with no effort on your part. And the beauty of this strategy is that only sites in your niche will use your content. This means your links will be high quality links from sites in the right ‘neighborhood.’ This goes a long way with the search engines.

There are lots of other ways to get links into your site, and you need to use your imagination.

Traffic Sources – Part 3

Traffic Source #3: Repeat Visitors

A perennial, top traffic generator at my sites is “repeat visitors.” You know, people coming to my site who have already been there before. The importance of getting repeat visitors is something you used to hear marketing experts talk

about a lot. Lately, it seems that the value of repeat visitors has been overlooked.

Yet repeat visitors are usually the people who end up making purchases at your site. And there are lots of ways to get these valuable repeat visitors.

I get most of my repeat visitors through my follow-up autoresponders, my free ebooks and my email newsletter.

I suggest you look at these strategies closely and try similar techniques if you are not already getting lots of repeat visitors.

Top Traffic Techniques – Part 2

Continuing on from a couple of days ago, I would like to share with you another top traffic technique.

Traffic Source #2: Affiliates

My number two traffic source this year is my affiliate force. While my joint venture partners mentioned above are included in this affiliate force, they are just one part of the entire force of thousands.

If you have not started an affiliate program for your best products and services, I highly recommend you do so.

Although there are some minor costs involved with starting your own affiliate program, it is well worth it. Justify the expense by telling yourself that you are hiring thousands of sales people and paying them only when they sell. A web based affiliate program is just that.

A few secrets to success with my affiliate programs include paying decent commission rates (I pay 40% commissions), paying on time every month and offering lots of tools and tips for my affiliates. I also actively seek out potential super-affiliates (JV-Partners!) on a regular basis. Like with any marketing strategy, a pro-active approach works best!

Top Low-Cost and No-Cost Traffic Sources

As an Internet Marketer who spends nearly nothing on advertising, I pride myself on utilizing only the most effective low-cost and no-cost traffic sources online. Over the next few days I’ll share some of my best traffic resources with you.

Over the next few days I’d like to share my top traffic sources with you so you can try them in your business. These traffic strategies drive thousands of visitors a week to my site and I know they can work for your site too.

One note before you read this series…

If there’s one thing you need to understand about website traffic, it is this… It’s not the volume of traffic that supports a web business, it is the QUALITY of the traffic. Keep this in mind as you read the list below, and more importantly, as you setup your own traffic sources online.

Traffic Source #1: Joint Venture Partners

What is a joint venture partner?

Simply put, it is a business in the same or a related niche as yours, that agrees to promote your products or services. In most cases, you in turn, promote their products or services. Hence the name, joint venture.

The last couple years I’ve taken a more pro-active approach to teaming up with related businesses in joint ventures. The results have been phenomenal. Not only have I seen a sharp increase in sales, I forged new alliances with some of the web’s top marketing companies. These relationships invariably result in increased profits not only this year, but for years to come.

So what do YOU need to start profiting from joint ventures at your website?

A. a product or service of your own.

B. an affiliate program management solution

C. A system for contacting potential JV partners on a regular basis

If you have all three of those items or can get them, and you’re not doing joint ventures in your business, what are you waiting for? This is the top traffic and sales strategy for many companies on the web. It can work for any business including yours.

I have been trying to make money through Affiliate Marketing for a while now with little or no success.

To be honest over the past couple of years I have probably only made 2 affiliate sales, and as yet still have not received my commission as I haven’t reached the predetermined payout threashhold.
While looking for ways to improve my online success, I stumbled upon Ewen Chia’s Fast Track Cash, and boy did it open my eyes.
Not only did this ebook (and videos) show me how to start making money online through Affiliate Marketing, it also showed me simple ways to start getting heaps of traffic to my own sites.

    Here are just some of the highlights of Ewen Chia’s Fast Track Cash:

      You’ll find this on page 55

    Of course, Ewen Chia’s Fast Track Cash isn’t for everybody. Here are some of the areas where I thought Ewen Chia missed the mark:

    • I feel a little more time could have been spent on how to select the right Affiliate product to promote, rather than simply suggesting his own product.
    • Again, some sort of direction on keyword research for promoting the affiliate products would have made this book just about a complete how-to guide on affiliate marketing.

    That being said, I feel that Ewen Chia’s Fast Track Cash is perfect for:

    • An Internet Marketer who is wanting to generate quality traffic to their affiliate links or perhaps even their own website.
    • Someone who likes to write and is trying to make their mark with Article Marketing who finds their articles are being rejected for using Affiliate links.
    • Someone who wants to start making money online but who does not know how to get started quickly in Internet Marketing.

    Traffic Generation with Alex Jeffreys

    Traffic GenerationI have just finished a coaching call with Alex Jeffreys, who some of you may know through www.marketingwithyou.com and also his Marketing With Alex coaching course.

    Now as I have mentioned in an earlier Blog posts, I have been trying to be successful in Internet Marketing for a couple of years now, and in that time have made a couple of dollars, but nowhere near enough to do this fulltime.

    In fact most of my websites, I was unable to even entice someone enough to subscribe to my newsletter. My two most successful sites have been Teach Children About Money (which I built from scratch) and Web 2.0 Traffic Stampede (which was a PLR product).

    With both of the above sites, the majority of my traffic came from PPC methods, although Teach Children About Money, does generate a fair amount of organic traffic now days.

    That aside, the call with Alex this morning was about generating traffic through Social Media methods. In a nutshell, the key is to attract traffic to your own blog by giving value to someone else’s. That is, post constructive comments on other people’s blogs, and hopefully people will find your comments valuable enough to come and visit your own site.

    Now I have been working on this blog for about the last four weeks, and on average I have been getting 7 to 10 visitors per day, with a max of 22 hits.

    This can be a little discouraging, when you hear that some of the other students are getting 100 + hits per day.

    This morning, Alex gave us a challenge to see who, over the next two weeks, can generate the greatest increase in our traffic numbers.

    So here is my plan:

    1. Update my blog regularly.
    2. Add value to the blogs of others.
    3. Generate traffic using Article Marketing (I use Article Marketing Automation for this)
    4. Create a video about my Internet Marketing experiences and post it on the video websites.
    5. Use Twitter to generate traffic.
    6. Study the Traffic Secrets 2.0 study guide (which I already have)
    7. Use the Traffic Generation Club for ideas
    8. Use www.pingomatic.com and www.pingoat.com to advertise my blog elsewhere
    9. Study the Alex’s videos on the subject.
    10. Use the traffic tactics as described in the Web 2.0 Traffic Stampede
    11. Add a video to my own blog

    Now these are just a few ideas off the top of my head, but I will keep you posted on other methods I discover as I go along.

    Now all of this is going to take a lot of time and effort, so I will probably not get much sleep over the coming weeks. But I am told it will be all worth it.
