Article Marketing Explained!

One way of promoting your website and product can be achieved for FREE. As an additional bonus, this “free” method can boost your sites and sales, doubling and even tripling your income.

Articles. One of the easiest ways to promote your website in order to generate traffic and increase your earnings.

How does this work?

Write articles relating to your website and submit them to “free content” submission sites. Easy to do, takes little time and can increase your website traffic, sales and of course, your income.

How can article writing boost traffic and income?

The article on the free content site contains a link to your own website. Readers, after reading your articles, may choose to click on the link and pay you an unexpected visit. Having them on the free content sites is also making these articles available to other webmasters who may wish to publish that article on their site.

If they do, your article will include a link back to your site. And anyone who reads the article on that site can still click on the link to visit your site.

As the list of your published articles grow larger, and more and more of them are appearing on different websites, the total number of links to your site increases also. Major search engines are placing a lot of significance on incoming links to websites so they can determine the importance of a certain site.

The more incoming links the website has, the more importance search engines attaches to it. This will then increase your website’s placement in the search results.

If you site is into promoting a product or service, the links that your articles have achieved will mean more potential customers for you. Even if visitors only browse through, you never know if they might be in need of what you are offering in the future.

There are also those who already have specific things they need on their mind but cannot decide yet between the many choices online. Chances are, they may stumble upon one of your articles, gets interested by the contents you wrote, go to your site and became enticed by your promotions.

See how easy that is?

Search engines do not just index the websites, they also index published articles. They also index any article that is written about your own website’s topic. So once someone searches for that same topic, the list of results will have your site or may even show the articles that you have written.

And to think, no effort on your part was used to bring them to your site. Just your published articles and the search engines.

It is no wonder why many webmasters are suddenly reviving their old writing styles and taking time to write more articles about their site than doing other means of promotion.

Getting their site known is easier if they have articles increasing their links and traffic and making it accessible for visitors searching the Internet. Since many people are now taking their buying needs online, having your site on the search engines through your articles is one way of letting them know about you and your business.

The good thing with articles is that you can write about things that people would want to know about. This can be achieved in the lightest mood but professional manner, with a little not-so-obvious sales pitch added.

If you think about it, only a few minutes of your time is spent on writing one article and submitting to free content site. In the shortest span of time also, those are distributed to more sites than you can think of. Even before you know what is happening, you are getting more visitors than you previously had.

If you think you are wasting your time writing these articles, fast forward to the time when you will see them printed and wide-spread on the Internet. Not to mention the sudden attention and interest that people are giving your website and your products or services.

Try writing some articles and you will be assured of the sudden surge in site traffic, link popularity and interest. Before you know it, you will be doubling and even tripling your earnings.

Creating Your Own Information Products

If you’re looking for a way to create an additional stream of income through the business you already have, then creating an information product may be the answer.
No matter what type of business you own, there’s always an opportunity to create an added flow of income. Whether you promote affiliate programs, take part in Google Adsense, or market to your mailing list – these are all great and easy ways to bring in some extra money.
However, there’s nothing better than an information product when it comes to taking your business to the next level.

Here’s why:
1. An information product can establish you as an expert in your field, and your readers will continually come to you for answers.

2. It builds credibility because you have proven yourself to your readers, and they know that they can trust you when it comes to matters within your niche.

3. Your product will turn into a passive source of income. Yes, it will take work on your part, but the beauty of information products is that you only have to do the work once and you can make money over and over again.

4. You can promote your main business. By placing your website address inside your information product, readers can click the links to learn more about you and possibly buy other items.

5. Make money on top of money. When you create an information product, you will likely find a need to mention other products, programs, etc., that your readers will find helpful. By signing up as an affiliate for the products and programs that you mention throughout your info product, you can earn an extra income from the commission. So every time someone clicks your affiliate link and buys the item you mentioned, you just earned money on top of the money you earned selling your information product.

6. Even more money and traffic. If you have set up an affiliate program, then others will be sending you traffic and gaining you sales in exchange for a commission. Information products have exploded across the Internet and people from all walks of life are partaking in this lucrative, online industry. A quick Google search brings up an astounding 1,460,000,000 listings for the term “information products,” but does that mean there can’t possibly be room for one more product?

Of course not! Surprisingly enough, new information products are sprouting up every day and many of their creators are earning a nice side income, while others are rapidly building up an information product empire.
Keep in mind that millions of people log onto the Internet every day because they are searching for information, and chances are, there will be people willing to pay for what you know.

Traffic Generation Techniques – Part 4

As we continue with this mini series I would like to cover:

Traffic Source #4: Links/Content

Getting lots of incoming links to your site is important. Not only will traffic arrive via those links, but a site with lots of incoming links does better in search engines than sites with few links.

The best strategy I’ve used to get links, starts with content. You write articles based on your niche, post the content at your site AND share the content with other webmasters. You can do this “on-the-fly” by including a short footer after your content that tells webmasters they have permission to reprint your article at their website or in their newsletter.

Be sure to let them know that they need to include a live link to your site. You may even want to tell them exactly how to link to your site. (Preferably with a short description of your site and a hyper linked keyword or two. This will help search engines determine that the sites are related and give the link more relevance.)

There are lots of websites in need of decent content. Supply it and you can benefit greatly – your links will grow continually with no effort on your part. And the beauty of this strategy is that only sites in your niche will use your content. This means your links will be high quality links from sites in the right ‘neighborhood.’ This goes a long way with the search engines.

There are lots of other ways to get links into your site, and you need to use your imagination.

Traffic Source #3: Repeat Visitors

A perennial, top traffic generator at my sites is “repeat visitors.” You know, people coming to my site who have already been there before. The importance of getting repeat visitors is something you used to hear marketing experts talk

about a lot. Lately, it seems that the value of repeat visitors has been overlooked.

Yet repeat visitors are usually the people who end up making purchases at your site. And there are lots of ways to get these valuable repeat visitors.

I get most of my repeat visitors through my follow-up autoresponders, my free ebooks and my email newsletter.

I suggest you look at these strategies closely and try similar techniques if you are not already getting lots of repeat visitors.

Top Traffic Techniques – Part 2

Continuing on from a couple of days ago, I would like to share with you another top traffic technique.

Traffic Source #2: Affiliates

My number two traffic source this year is my affiliate force. While my joint venture partners mentioned above are included in this affiliate force, they are just one part of the entire force of thousands.

If you have not started an affiliate program for your best products and services, I highly recommend you do so.

Although there are some minor costs involved with starting your own affiliate program, it is well worth it. Justify the expense by telling yourself that you are hiring thousands of sales people and paying them only when they sell. A web based affiliate program is just that.

A few secrets to success with my affiliate programs include paying decent commission rates (I pay 40% commissions), paying on time every month and offering lots of tools and tips for my affiliates. I also actively seek out potential super-affiliates (JV-Partners!) on a regular basis. Like with any marketing strategy, a pro-active approach works best!

Top Low-Cost and No-Cost Traffic Sources

As an Internet Marketer who spends nearly nothing on advertising, I pride myself on utilizing only the most effective low-cost and no-cost traffic sources online. Over the next few days I’ll share some of my best traffic resources with you.

Over the next few days I’d like to share my top traffic sources with you so you can try them in your business. These traffic strategies drive thousands of visitors a week to my site and I know they can work for your site too.

One note before you read this series…

If there’s one thing you need to understand about website traffic, it is this… It’s not the volume of traffic that supports a web business, it is the QUALITY of the traffic. Keep this in mind as you read the list below, and more importantly, as you setup your own traffic sources online.

Traffic Source #1: Joint Venture Partners

What is a joint venture partner?

Simply put, it is a business in the same or a related niche as yours, that agrees to promote your products or services. In most cases, you in turn, promote their products or services. Hence the name, joint venture.

The last couple years I’ve taken a more pro-active approach to teaming up with related businesses in joint ventures. The results have been phenomenal. Not only have I seen a sharp increase in sales, I forged new alliances with some of the web’s top marketing companies. These relationships invariably result in increased profits not only this year, but for years to come.

So what do YOU need to start profiting from joint ventures at your website?

A. a product or service of your own.

B. an affiliate program management solution

C. A system for contacting potential JV partners on a regular basis

If you have all three of those items or can get them, and you’re not doing joint ventures in your business, what are you waiting for? This is the top traffic and sales strategy for many companies on the web. It can work for any business including yours.

Rule #9: Seek Out Talented JV Partners

Earlier, we spoke about outsourcing work that you don’t feel competent to complete yourself. Another way in which you can do this is to form a joint venture partnership with someone who has different skills or resources.

For instance, let’s say you own a site that provides resources for dog owners. You might have an excellent product for dog owners, but no list to audience to market it to. As a result, you don’t move your product; and you don’t make profits.

Now, if you’re willing to venture outside of your comfort zone, you might be able to make thousands of dollars. And all you have to do is propose a joint venture partnership that involves your resource to a pet site that generates traffic, but is in need of a product to sell.

Start by making a list of these sites. In particular, look for any site in your niche that generates a lot of traffic. You can do this by performing a simple Google search and seeing what organic and sponsored results show up on the first 1-3 pages. You can also check Alexa.com ratings for sites you are already familiar with to find out whether they receive a lot of traffic.

Once you have your list of sites, sit down and decide how you want this joint venture to work. If you’re bringing nothing other than a product to the table, you won’t want to ask for too much in your proposal. After all, they have the customer base.

As an example of what you might do, consider the following joint venture proposal letter:

Dear Tom,

I recently discovered your site, www.fakesite.com, and noticed that you provide your visitors with high-quality resources and products.

I’m contacting you because I’m planning to launch a product in the near future and wondered if you are interested in participating in a joint venture partnership.

Specifically, I’m planning to launch a new product, which I will release only to my readers and the readers on one more site. If you’re interested in working with me, I will select you as the sole additional distributor and allow you to sell it at an 80% commission.

Let me know if you’re interested. If so, I will send you a copy of the product, as well as more information about my launch plans.

I look forward to hearing back from you.

Again, the particular form of the letter is not critical. The most important part is that you make an effort to start contacting people, pitching your role as a JV partner, and finding good matches for your plan.
