I have heard it said that Goal setting in it’s simplest form is to simply decide what you want & then write it down.
This in essence is true, and for some people it is all they need to do. However for the rest of us, we need a little more than this.
Goal setting should be something that we do on a regular basis. We need to write out our goals in detail & then review them often.
I would also suggest rewriting your goals down at least once a week. This way you can keep your goals fresh in your mind.
It is through consistent focus and constantly reminding ourselves what it is we are wanting to achieve in our Internet Marketing endeavours, that will we be able to get through the tougher times when we are not getting the Opt-in list sign-ups or the traffic that we were hoping for.
With a clearly defined goal constantly in our mind we will have the strength to make that next blog post or write another article.
There are many ways that you can create your goals list. You can write out your goals in a notebook, or you might prefer to type them out on your computer. I prefer to write them down, that way I can take my list with me and review them anywhere.
Also, remember that your goals should be unique to you. Don’t copy someone else’s goals, or have something on your list that someone might suggest to you. Your goals are very personal, and should be something that you want.
The reason for this, is that you will work much harder to achieve a goal you have set for yourself, than you would a goal that someone else has suggested to you.
The best way to start writing out your goals, is simply to get out a piece of paper, find somewhere that you will not be disturbed, & then just brainstorm. Just write down everything that you think of. Everything that you have ever wanted to do, be that skydiving, making a million dollars in Internet Marketing, or perhaps have lunch with the Queen, or the President of the United States. Simply write everything that you think you would like to do.
Later on, as you go through & validate your goals, then you can weed out the fantasies, from the goals that you would truly like to pursue.
Whatever you do, make it a priority in your life within the next couple of days to write out your goal list.
In my next post I will discuss classifying & prioritizing your Goals.

Great post, you really cannot underestimate the importance of goal setting.
Since starting the MWA2.0 course I swiftly realised that one of the problems I had previously was a lack of clear goals and therefore a lack of focus which resulted in me flitting between things and not seeing substantial results.
Safe to say I have now revised my operations with some robust plans. Look forward to seeing both our successes.
