Making Mistakes

February 23rd, 2010

As a new Internet Marketer, we quite often get caught up with the results rather than the causes. For example we can often focus more on making money rather than getting traffic to our sites.

The way I see it, is if you focus on getting traffic to your website, you will inevitably, start making sales.

Another mistake that is quite common is filling our Blogs, with so many advertisements and affiliate links rather than quality content. This is something the newbie marketer quite often gets caught up in, in a desperate attempt to make those first couple of dollars. I have also been guilty of this.

We have it all Backwards.

Our Blogs should be supplying quality content. We should be sharing our latest experiences in Internet Marketing. Share with others what is working for us, and what doesn’t work. By doing this we will slowly get a following of readers, and over a period of time, we will start making the occasional sale, as we recommend some of the products that we also use.

So the focus should be content, not constantly trying to sell something. This should be the same for our newsletters. We should treat our readers with respect, and work on building a relationship with them.

Personally, I don’t like to be sold to all the time. However, if I have grown to respect someone through their writings, I will be more inclined to listen to their recommendations of other products and services.

So what do we write about?

Simply write what is on your mind. Tell your readers what you are currently working on. Share with them your current marketing methods, for example: Article Marketing, Blog Commenting, Forum Commenting, Link Swapping, etc.

Occasionally share with your reader a little more about yourself and your family, or perhaps some of your goals and dreams. Let them know who you are when you are not sitting behind a computer.

Some of us have some technical skills, so share ideas on creating a better blog, or the latest trick you have learnt using Word, Powerpoint, or Komposer.

First things first.

The first step it to focus on your content. Start writing articles, and if you have trouble doing this, find some good quality PLR articles and rewrite these. (PLR Wholesaler is a good cheap place to start)

Next, setup your auto-responder and add a opt-in link on your blog or website.

Now it is time to focus on traffic. Use some of your articles and post them on some of the article directories, comment on other blogs, get involved in forums associated with your niche. A great place to start is simply type into Google, (your niche) + forums. For example ‘dog training forums’.

Also remember to ping your blog each time you make a new post using Ping-O-Matic or Pingoat.

So what am I working on?

I have a couple of websites that I am focused on generating traffic to at the moment. Time Management Mindset and Easy Product Creation System. I am mainly using Article Marketing for this, but also helping outhers out in the forums.

I am also doing some Video marketing training with The Video Boss.

In addition to all of this, I am also planning a couple of new products. So I have pretty well got my plate full.

To Your Success,

Rob Willis

Progress Report

February 10th, 2010

Well it has been over a week now since I have ventured out into the world of full time Internet Marketing.

To tell the truth, it is just as challenging as I thought it would be, but with these things the answer is persistence.

For starters, I know I should spend more time making blog posts, as well as building my email list.

In regards to email lists, My new site, http://timemanagementmindset.com is doing well. I am getting some traffic through, as well as a number of visitors signing up for my newsletter there.

My main form of marketing for the Time Management Mindset has been through Article Marketing. I am getting a reasonable amount of traffic from Ezinearticles, even though I have only posted two articles there so far. I need to ramp that side of things up a little. Feel free to read my articles at Ezinearticles.

Another Traffic Method I am using currently for my Time Management Mindset site is Article Marketing Automation. I have recommended this site previously, but must mention it again. AMA spins your articles, & posts them on other relivant blogs. This is dribbled out to other sites, so Google does not get upset with you. Check them out, It is well worth the effort.

Over the past week I have been putting together a new product on Product Creation. I am hoping to launch this within the next week. This will actually be a physical product that I am putting together. My Product Creation Product is a series of videos, on the quickest way for creating your own product.

More about that soon….

I have quite a number of projects in the works, so balancing them all together does take a lot of juggling. I am finding, that I can sometimes get very distracted with the little things. That is why, I must refocus each day and keep my “To Do” list close at hand, as well as my “Goal List”. Both of these are very important if I want my Internet Marketing Career to kick off in a big way.

Something else I have recently come across is a viral way to build your email list. Sounds interesting, but I recommend you check it out here at the Viral Secret.

I have been thinking lately about making a post regarding some of my other websites. Many of these need a major over haul, but before I do, I would love your feedback. So please come back in the next couple of days, as I will have a feedback form I would love for you to fill out.

One of these is a Internet Marketing Software site. I highly recommend that you have a closer look at some of the great tools that are available there. Head over to Perfect Money Makers, and download one of the free trial products that are available.

I am also spending a lot of time learning all I can about using Photoshop & Camtasia Video. I also have a product in the works for these also. Please keep posted.

Another little something I am doing to keep myself busy, is I have recently got myself an Apple MacBook Pro. I am slowly getting my head around how this works & how it is different to a PC. So much to learn…. So little time….

My tasks over the next week is to focus on some of my pile of paper work, finish my Product Creation System, and post some more articles at EzineArticles.

Anyway, I have probably rambled on a little too much for now, so I will sign off, & look forward to chatting with you again soon.

BTW. I have also recently setup a Helpdesk system, where you can get in touch with me. This is also a work in progress. Come and visit at http://support.webworkscentral.com

To Your Success,

Rob Willis

Blogging 101 – What Is It And Why Should I Care

August 23rd, 2009

If writing is an art, then, blogging is one way of using words to come up with an art. This is because people who are into blogging are the ones who are artistic in their own terms, carefully choosing words that would best describe their feelings, sentiments, wishes and desires.

Basically, blogs were first introduced as weblogs, the word refers to the log that is a web-server’s log file. It was created when web logging hit the virtual market. Since its inception in the mid-1990s, web logging gradually saturated the virtual community making the Internet a viable source of greater information.

However, with web logging, you still need a web site and domain names, but with blogging, you do not need anything just an account with blog service providers. In most cases, these kinds of blogs are free of charge.

With the onset of blogging in the industry, personal journaling has become a common ground for people who wish to be known all over the world. The fame is often more imaginary than real, albeit that blogs can be read anywhere in the world that an internet connection can be found.

Bareknuckle Blogging

Generally, blogs are created for personal use. Like a journal, people can write their daily adventures, sentiments, and whatever ideas they want to express online.

Nevertheless, with the advent of the online businesses, blogs have gradually moved into the limelight by providing businesses a chance to boost their profile online.

Business blogs are, basically, created to advertise the services or products of a certain web site or online business in order to increase online sales.

Moreover, business blogs are also one way of promoting the company so that other readers will know that a certain company exists online. With blogs, entrepreneurs are able to establish a name in the virtual market through articles that can be very useful in the reader’s life.

From there, you can make money out of blogs by simply syndicating it to your business’ web site. This can be done through RSS technology.

So, if you are thinking to create a blog, whether for business or for pleasure, you need to know some tips that could help you get through and make your blog one of the interesting blogs online.

Here’s how:

1. Consider your audience

Even if your blog is generally personal, still, it would be better to consider the minds of your readers. You have to think of something that would interest them.

After all, most of the reasons of people who write blogs are not at all confined to their own personal motives. Most of them would love to be “heard” (or read) and would love to be known, in some way or another, even for just a minute. Hence, it is very important to come with a write up that everybody can understand, not necessarily that these people can relate to it but they can understand it.

2. Pictures speaks a thousand words

To make your blogging worth the browsing effort of your readers, it would be extremely nice if you put some pictures in it. It does not necessarily mean you have to place a picture of yourself. Any photographs will do as long as it does not pose danger or insult to anyone who will be reading your blog and that you have permission to use them!

3. Make constructive and beneficial blogs

Even if you are free to write anything you wan to say to the world, still, it would be better to create some write-ups that would be beneficial to your readers.

After all, its information technology that you have there so better be inclined to provide information rather than sheer quirky entertainment.

4. Avoid making multifaceted and complicated blogs

In order to have an interesting blog, try not to use some highly technical and highfalutin words. After all, it is not a science discourse or a debate that you are making, so better stick to simple facts and short blogs.

Bear in mind that most people who use the Internet usually do more scanning than scrutinizing each site word for word. Therefore, it would be better to come with blogs that will not bore your readers just because you have these lengthy articles.

5. Make it interactive

As much as possible and if your capacity will allow it, make your blog interactive. Yu can do this by placing some video or audio clips in your blog.

You can even place an area for comments or for some feedback. In this way, you can get some impressions or reactions of other people. Who knows, you might even gain some friends just by making them feel at home in your blog site.

Indeed, blogs are not created just for the mere fun of it; they also have their own purpose in the world of the Internet.
Therefore, for people who wish to harness their craft, as far as writing is concerned, blogs are the best way to do it.

As we might say, blogging is the contemporary medium for creative and commercial writing.
