Top 10 Ways To Fire Your Boss

April 17th, 2012

Brad Hafner is one funny guy. He’s got a great blog that you can find at http://fit2praise.blogspot.com. In this post he talks about how to Fire Your Boss. My personal favorite is Number 8, “Just mess with his head”. I love that.

Top 10 Ways To Fire Your Boss

There is a point that some people reach in their careers that truly sets them apart from the rest of the herd. My point was reached when I was overloaded, overstressed, and underpaid. I was done with deadlines for pennies. I was done being the slave to a job that I despised. So I had a choice! I could either find another job, and dedicate the next 10 years to that job, and then do it all over again or I could build my business with Beachbody and live life on my terms. Hmmmmmm…..tough decision right? The best decision you could make for you and for your future would be to fire your boss and work for yourself. The only difference would be, well, there are a ton of them so I won’t mention them here.

Number 10: Rip off your company logoed shirt, Superman style, throw it on the ground and say, “I QUIT!” I highly recommend it! Very fun. Most effective when you have an P90X or Insanity muscle shirt to wear underneath.

Number 9: Walk in to your boss’s office and ask for a raise. You may get into the usual conversation of him asking you why you feel you deserve a raise. Turn the conversation back on him and ask him why he feels he deserves to have you as an employee. Just mess with his head. After his response, which might not be a good one, tell him he is fired and walk out of his office.

Number 8: Again, go to your boss and ask him for a raise. Again, you may get the usual questions along the lines of why you feel like you deserve to get a raise. He may even ask you how much you think you are worth, or what he should pay you. Tell him $2,000 a week, and by the way, you now only have a 4 hour work day! In the last 30 days, that is what I have made, except I only work 3 hours a day, Monday – Thursday.

Number 7: Go up to your boss and tell him that your sick of your daily 45 minute – 1 hour commute. Tell him you are shortening your commute to 8 seconds and will achieve this by working out of your home office and to not plan on seeing you around much anymore. This is more to just see what his reaction will be. Be persistent and serious with him. Then mention that you will be working for yourself and not him.

Number 6: Come in late one day and say, “My apologies. Yoga X is an hour and 1/2 long workout and I had to deposit my $14,000 check in the bank before I came in to quit. NAMASTE!”

Number 5: Just tell your boss that you can really no longer afford to work for him and that he is losing you money. Then give him your business card and walk out.

Number 4: Tell your boss that your time is too precious to spend away from those you care about. “I run a very successful home business. That means I am at home, with my family, working only three hours a day.”

Number 3: Throw yourself a going away party the day you plan on leaving your job. Make sure all your co-workers know about it and let it be a surprise to your boss.

Number 2: Tell your boss that today is your last day and volunteer to stay the two weeks just to be polite. But then reiterate that today is your last day! He will be a little confused.

Number 1: Just walk in and say that you’re a coach for Team Beachbody, a successful home business, and say, “You’re fired!”

So there you have it. If you have any other ways or ideas of how to fire your boss, post a comment and we will see how many good ones we can come up with. Seriously though, the day I fired my boss was the best day of my working career! Be smart though. Don’t just fire your boss if you aren’t self-employed and part of a business opportunity that is profitable enough to do so. I can definitely help you in that arena! So, fire you boss! Let someone else be the employee.

Another Proud Parenting Moment….

May 14th, 2010

Last week, my oldest son, Jordan, performed in a production of Grease at Sacred Heart College. He performed the role of one of the T-Birds, Doodie.

In this role, he peformed the song “Those Magic Changes”. Everone was blown away by his performance, including me and my wife.

I would like to share his performance with you. Although the video quality is not that great, the audio is still pretty good.

This was recorder from the back row of the school hall using a Creative Labs Vado HD V2 Pocket Video Cam.

Please Enjoy & leave your comments.

Happy Anniversary

February 23rd, 2010

Today is my Wedding Anniversary. My wife and I have been married for 19 years.

I would like to say that they have all been happy, but there were a couple of years there that we didn’t think we would make it. But love, dedication and persistence saw us through.

This day 19 years ago, was quite a memorable day, not only because it is the day I got married, but it was also the hotest day on record here in Perth, Western Australia.

The Mercury that day reached 46.7 degrees Celsius, which I believe is about 116.06 Fahrenheit.

Of course I was wearing a black tails suit, and got married in an old pre-war church (so of course there was no air conditioning), but other than the temperature, the day went without a hitch.

Nineteen years later, we have both grown in different ways. The girl I married way back then is not the same girl I am with today, and of course the boy she married then has changed in so many ways also.

Change is a good thing. If we always stayed the same, we would soon get bored of each other. Not to mention we would probably get bored of ourselves also.

Fortunately, we have both grown in the same general direction. My wife is very supportive of the ventures I have undertaken over the years, as I have been of here change of career recently. My wife recently left Nursing to become a drafts-person.

Through thick & thin, we have raise 3 wonderful boys, which of course present their own challenges.

Our Oldest Son, Jordan, is now 16 & believes the world revolves around him. (Pretty much the same as I did when I was about that age). However, he still gives my wife and I a hug & kiss when he goes to bed at night. He is a great kid & I look forward to taking him to the pub for a beer when he is old enough.

My second oldest son, Jacob, is turning 14 soon. He is our sports man. He loves his Australian Rules football, and he is very good at it. Of course as parents we tend to be bias, but I believe he could go all the way to the national league.

My Youngest Son, Isaac, has recently turned 10. He is our inquisitive one. He asks questions about everything. He is always keeping us on our toes.

All three of our boys are very polite, and generally do not go about killing each other. They really are great kids. I am very proud of them all.

So after 19 years of marrage, I think my wife & I are getting it together. After all it is a journey, and one I am enjoying and constantly growing in.

I am looking forward to spending the rest of my life with this wonderful lady.

I just thought I would share with you a school project my son put together.

It could be a great idea for those that are participating in the 90 Day Challenge….

For those that are interested, my son is the singer.

I should also point out… The boys are miming this. (It is actually a Linkin Park song)
