Mapping Out Your Life

It may be hard for some of you to imagine, but I am currently sitting here with my feet in the swimming pool on on a day the reached 41.5 degrees centigrade.

Those of you that have read my blog previously, may well know that I live in Perth, Western Australia. Down here in the Southern Hemisphere, we are approaching the end of our Summer. So yes, it still gets a little warm.

Speaking about the end of Summer, I am reminded that next week is my birthday. And I am sure like many of you, birthdays, like New Years, is a time to reflect on just what I have achieved over the past 12 months.

Next week, I am going to be 45. I still remember when I was at primary school, thinking about being 35 for the year 2000. “Gee that was going to be old I thought!”

Now it is 10 years beyond that, and I look back on what I have achieved over the years.

I cannot complain, I have had some great opportunities over my life. I have jumped out of an airoplane from 14,000 feet. I have performed onstage at the London Palladium, I have 3 fantastic children… Check out my previous post “25 Things you may not know about me

All that said, I am always looking for new adventures, and new challenges. I want to be more than just a Computer Engineer, or an Internet Marketer. I want to help other people achieve their goals and dreams. I guess you could say, I would like to be a personal success coach of sorts.

I have always believed, that my purpose in life was to help others.

Many years ago I wrote down on a piece of paper what I believed my life’s purpose was…. “To help and inspire others to achieve their hopes and dreams, and to achieve their full potential in life!”

So whether you goal is to make it as a successful Internet Marketer, or you simply want to achieve more in life, I would love to help you reach those goals.

Happy Anniversary

Today is my Wedding Anniversary. My wife and I have been married for 19 years.

I would like to say that they have all been happy, but there were a couple of years there that we didn’t think we would make it. But love, dedication and persistence saw us through.

This day 19 years ago, was quite a memorable day, not only because it is the day I got married, but it was also the hotest day on record here in Perth, Western Australia.

The Mercury that day reached 46.7 degrees Celsius, which I believe is about 116.06 Fahrenheit.

Of course I was wearing a black tails suit, and got married in an old pre-war church (so of course there was no air conditioning), but other than the temperature, the day went without a hitch.

Nineteen years later, we have both grown in different ways. The girl I married way back then is not the same girl I am with today, and of course the boy she married then has changed in so many ways also.

Change is a good thing. If we always stayed the same, we would soon get bored of each other. Not to mention we would probably get bored of ourselves also.

Fortunately, we have both grown in the same general direction. My wife is very supportive of the ventures I have undertaken over the years, as I have been of here change of career recently. My wife recently left Nursing to become a drafts-person.

Through thick & thin, we have raise 3 wonderful boys, which of course present their own challenges.

Our Oldest Son, Jordan, is now 16 & believes the world revolves around him. (Pretty much the same as I did when I was about that age). However, he still gives my wife and I a hug & kiss when he goes to bed at night. He is a great kid & I look forward to taking him to the pub for a beer when he is old enough.

My second oldest son, Jacob, is turning 14 soon. He is our sports man. He loves his Australian Rules football, and he is very good at it. Of course as parents we tend to be bias, but I believe he could go all the way to the national league.

My Youngest Son, Isaac, has recently turned 10. He is our inquisitive one. He asks questions about everything. He is always keeping us on our toes.

All three of our boys are very polite, and generally do not go about killing each other. They really are great kids. I am very proud of them all.

So after 19 years of marrage, I think my wife & I are getting it together. After all it is a journey, and one I am enjoying and constantly growing in.

I am looking forward to spending the rest of my life with this wonderful lady.

Making Mistakes

As a new Internet Marketer, we quite often get caught up with the results rather than the causes. For example we can often focus more on making money rather than getting traffic to our sites.

The way I see it, is if you focus on getting traffic to your website, you will inevitably, start making sales.

Another mistake that is quite common is filling our Blogs, with so many advertisements and affiliate links rather than quality content. This is something the newbie marketer quite often gets caught up in, in a desperate attempt to make those first couple of dollars. I have also been guilty of this.

We have it all Backwards.

Our Blogs should be supplying quality content. We should be sharing our latest experiences in Internet Marketing. Share with others what is working for us, and what doesn’t work. By doing this we will slowly get a following of readers, and over a period of time, we will start making the occasional sale, as we recommend some of the products that we also use.

So the focus should be content, not constantly trying to sell something. This should be the same for our newsletters. We should treat our readers with respect, and work on building a relationship with them.

Personally, I don’t like to be sold to all the time. However, if I have grown to respect someone through their writings, I will be more inclined to listen to their recommendations of other products and services.

So what do we write about?

Simply write what is on your mind. Tell your readers what you are currently working on. Share with them your current marketing methods, for example: Article Marketing, Blog Commenting, Forum Commenting, Link Swapping, etc.

Occasionally share with your reader a little more about yourself and your family, or perhaps some of your goals and dreams. Let them know who you are when you are not sitting behind a computer.

Some of us have some technical skills, so share ideas on creating a better blog, or the latest trick you have learnt using Word, Powerpoint, or Komposer.

First things first.

The first step it to focus on your content. Start writing articles, and if you have trouble doing this, find some good quality PLR articles and rewrite these. (PLR Wholesaler is a good cheap place to start)

Next, setup your auto-responder and add a opt-in link on your blog or website.

Now it is time to focus on traffic. Use some of your articles and post them on some of the article directories, comment on other blogs, get involved in forums associated with your niche. A great place to start is simply type into Google, (your niche) + forums. For example ‘dog training forums’.

Also remember to ping your blog each time you make a new post using Ping-O-Matic or Pingoat.

So what am I working on?

I have a couple of websites that I am focused on generating traffic to at the moment. Time Management Mindset and Easy Product Creation System. I am mainly using Article Marketing for this, but also helping outhers out in the forums.

I am also doing some Video marketing training with The Video Boss.

In addition to all of this, I am also planning a couple of new products. So I have pretty well got my plate full.

I HATE seeing good people lose money in the stock market.

Nobody likes losing money. I’ve been there and done that. Perhaps that’s why I have compassion for the millions of people who are currently losing so much of their financial worth.

People are losing their stock portfolios, losing their 401k’s, losing their jobs due to the sour economy, and just generally getting spanked by Wall Street.

Unfortunately, I can’t help the “masses” avoid financial loss.

It’s just a part of how the game is played. Someone is always going to lose money.

However, I CAN help those who are willing to help themselves. And since you’re here reading this page, that includes you 🙂

In other words, someone is always going to lose money, but that “someone” DOESN’T have to be you!
